This was an interesting challenge. It is a stairway for a 3-story
townhome. The second stairway, going from the second to the third floor,
is just floating in space. We engineered a stringer configuration, using 2
layers of 1-3/4" thick Microlam LVL beams, The angles of the stringer to
the landings are extremely sturdy, thus allowing the landing to float against
the wall.
